jared On July 19, 1982, Gerald and Sharon Padalecki brought the beautiful baby boy Jared Tristan Padalecki into the world. He has a younger sister, Megan, and an older brother, Jeff. At the young age of 12 he started taking acting lessons. He attended school at James Madison High School. During his time there he appeared in school plays and won the Claim to Fame contest in 1999. Winning the contest gave him the chance to appear in the 1999 Teen Choice Awards as a trophy presenter. At the show the 17 year old caught the eye of a talent manager who told him to call him up if he ever wanted an acting career. After graduating from high school in 2000 Jared considered going to the University of Texas, but decided to move out to Los Angles to pursue an acting career. After moving out to Los Angles he immediately landed the starring role in the TV movie 'Silent Witness' and a reappearing role, as Rory's love interest Dean, on the new hit WB series 'Gilmore Girls'. The next year he appeared in the TV production 'Close to Home', scored a supporting role on the Disney Channel movie 'A Ring of Endless Light' and a guest starring role on the acclaimed TV Drama 'ER'. He also appeared in the TV production 'Young MacGyver' and the big screen family flick 'Cheaper by the Dozen'. As he continued with 'Gilmore Girls' until their 5th season he got a guest starring role on the Olsen twin movie 'New York Minute' and a smaller role on 'Flight of the Phoenix.' His next movies consisted of a starring role as Wade in the remake of the 1953 horror movie 'House of Wax' and a supporting role in the mysterious thriller 'Cry Wolf.' In 2005 Jared filmed the pilot for the mysterious TV show 'Supernatural'. The show was picked up on the WB Network, the same network that homed 'Gilmore Girls'. Last year in addition to celebrating his 24th birthday he helped welcome the combination of two television networks. In the fall of 2006 UPN and the WB came together and formed The CW.
